“Success is neither magical nor mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the basic fundamentals.” - Jim Rohn
“All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take.” -Mohandas Gandhi
Fundamentals. That’s what this blog is all about.
In network marketing, as in any business, the fundamentals never change.
HELLO! That’s why they are called fundamentals–because they are the basic principles upon which truth is derived and success is built.
One of two things will happen to you in multi-level. Either you will either learn the fundamentals, apply them consistently, and succeed or, you will get caught up in the hype, waste a lot of time, and end up like most networkers: even more broke than when you started your little home-based business.
I, my friend, am here to teach you the fundamentals exactly as my millionaire mentors have taught me. Nothing on this blog is my sheer genius, because I have built a business that generates over $1 million in production by copying others. By being told what to do, and executing it. By de-programming my analytical brain and becoming completely teachable.
So whether you are building your business online, face-to-face, or via smoke signals, these fundamentals will apply yo you.
And please share what you’ve learned, because our industry thrives when we collaborate with each other rather than compete against each other, and begin operating from a state of abundance. There is plenty of business to be had for all of us.
I’m going to the top… who’s coming with me?
…
So you wanna know about me?
Well, I was a great kid: a straight “A” student, an accomplished athlete, and incredibly obedient (right Mom?). I was so obedient that I didn’t even question my parents when they taught me, “Go to college, land a job with the best company that you can, and work hard!” I spent college in a fruit-fly lab (read: NERD!!!), graduated with a molecular biology degree from UC Berkeley, and I went to work for a huge pharmaceutical company. I thought I would spend 30 or 40 years climbing the corporate ladder at that company. My goals were to buy a beautiful home, travel the world, and retire a millionaire!
But it didn’t take me too long to figure out that times have changed. The idea of going to work for a corporation that would take care of me into retirement was outdated. I was in my mid-twenties, I was working like a dog, and I saw my parents (then in their sixties) still working. I knew that if I didn’t find a different way, I was never going to have the home, the vacation, the financial freedom, or the time freedom that I truly desired.
At age 23 I answered every work from home ad that I could find. I sent away for dozens of brochures, pamphlets, cassette tapes, and videotapes to explore work-from-home opportunities. I didn’t want to be in network marketing; I was just looking for a way to make about $4,000 a month so that I could quit my job and figure out what I really wanted to do. Of all those inquiries, guess how many people called me back to follow up with me… just ONE! Only one person called me back, and I signed up with that company. That may appear gullible, but what I know is that the universe puts opportunities in front of us daily in response to our desires. I am a strong believer in “going with the flow”. When things feel right, I follow my instincts and take action. As a result, I signed up in a fantastic business under an incredible mentor, and began the ride of my life.
Of course, the ramp up phase of my business was not easy. In fact, I spent about 18 months floundering in network marketing before I made a serious profit. What took so long? Well, it took me that long to plug into personal development, and learn that if I wanted my life to change (and my business to grow!) then I would have to change first. It also took me that long to leverage the incredible mentors I had access to, because I didn’t know that only when the student is ready, the teacher appears. But what dramatically changed my business was when I stopped focusing on making money, and started focusing on helping people. After this all clicked for me, I went from making a couple hundred dollars each month to a six-figure income in just 15 months. It was incredible–I was 26-years-old, and I was making over $10,000 a month! My friends were still in school, they were paying off loans, and many were even living with their parents, and I was building a financial wall around myself that would set me up for the rest of my life.
Today I have a ten-foot commute from my bedroom to my home office, where I spend my days teaching people just like you how to leverage network marketing to change their lives and achieve their dreams. I live around a lake in beautiful Northern California, and my husband Patrick and I enjoy the flexibility that only working for yourself allows. Exercise, and yoga in particular, is a big part of my life. I also teach spin (indoor cycling) at a local gym, because if I don’t leave my house everyday I go loco! And nearly every evening Patrick and I make a mess in the kitchen, which is a wonderful way that we have found to connect with each other. My biggest accomplishment has been taking my business around the world, which was one of the main reasons I got involved (to see the world!).
Welcome to MelissaMcCloud.net, and congratulations to you. I say that because I know only a very small percentage of the population is taking the necessary steps in network marketing to secure their financial future. Just being on this website says a lot about you. You are in the right place at the right time (well, aren’t we always?) …
