I used to be secretly in love with Tim Ferriss.
(But it wasn’t long before I realized that I simply couldn’t keep it a secret.)
From the first time I read his widely popular “4-Hour Workweek” I was hooked.
I feverishly implemented his action items, and re-read sections of his book whenever I had a free moment. I quoted him to anyone who would listen, for I was the ultimate devotee.
If I faced a challenge in my business, I would immediately think, “What would Tim do?”
And rarely would a day go by that I wouldn’t falling asleep with him – er, his book - on my chest.
I felt like a 13-year-old girl that was sure Justin Timberlake was her soul mate - if only he could meet me, then he would feel the same way!
Suffice to say, I thought about him all the time,
And because I love and respect Patrick, I felt that I had to tell him about my hidden relationship.
And I’m happy to say, he took the news well.
So well in fact, that he read the book too!
And now the three of us co-exist under one roof in what you may consider an alternate arrangement.
But for us, it works.
So who the heck are you to judge?
Allow me to let you in on a few basic teachings of the illustrious Mr. Ferriss in this short clip:
Here, I took great notes for you:
Definition - Define what your ideal lifestyle looks like
Elimination - Get rid of noise and interruptions that are interfering with your ideal lifestyle
Automation - Take the few remaining tasks that are important and outsource or automate them
Liberation - Embrace mobility
Can you dig it?
First, you gotta know what your ideal lifestyle looks like. For me, it’s traveling the world with my international business and living abroad with my family.
How about you?
Knowing that is the first step. And if you choose to implement some of the tips from Tim, you will make more strides towards your goals in the next 48 hours than you did in the last two weeks.
Please comment below: What are you working towards? What is your ideal lifestyle? What are your goals and dreams and desires?
I have a better idea… why not blast them into the Twitterverse?

Well, he is kind of hot. I have never read this book. I will put it on my list. When I first got into network marketing I thought that a globe trotting life style was what I wanted, but I really don’t. Just being able to take an occasional big trip and having a little quiet beach house to retreat to in the winter would be great for me. Ideally, I would just love to have someone clean my house for me and do my landscaping. Yes, a hot sweaty gardener would be nice. So that I can trot off to book signings and coffee shop meetings and not watch the weeds grow in my back-yard. I would simply like to motivate everyday people to do more with their lives. I would simply like to inspire someone with something I have written. I would simply like to be a best selling author who can escape to my obscurity and learn to come to terms with fame. Is that asking too much? Thanks for this post, Melissa. I always enjoy your blog.

Melissa,
This blog post is adorable. Kept my interest. And – you are reminding us that the first step is to be clear about what our ideal life looks like. I created a vision board at a Christmas party last December. It sits in my bedroom and I look at it every time I pass it.
All the elements are there – comfort, luxury, books, animals, tennis, romance, money, health, fitness and leisure. I know it is only a matter of time….

Gee talk about having your hopes dashed. I was hoping I was the lucky one. Oh well, but the video and what he presented is right on. If I only had more hair and fewer wrinkles would I be in the running?

I have not read the book even though I know that it exists. I just may have to read it now!
I want to live at the beach and yes I want a maid, too. But I really would like to start a Minister’s Retreat for ministers and families who are hurting and cannot afford to get away for awhile.
